2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON THE COMPONENTS
                                                            100% trans-diamminedichloropalladium(II) trans-Pd(NH鈥?)沤Cl沤.
          Composition

3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
The trans isomer is non-irritating to the skin and non-toxic to abraded skin. However, solutions of the chemical in organic
solvents able to penetrate the skin may show enhanced toxicity. Reaction products and decomposition products, such as
palladium dichloride, may be skin irritants and cause dermatitis. On heating, the material decomposes above 200掳C, giving
toxic fumes and leaving a palladium residue.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Symptoms of overexposure may include the following-
Inhalation - irritation of the respiratory tract.
Ingestion - nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
Eye contact - redness and irritation.
Skin contact - possible irritation and dermatitis.

          First-aid treatment for acute overexposure.

remove from exposure and allow to rest in fresh air. Seek medical attention.
          First Aid - Inhalation
rinse mouth with clean water and give water or milk to drink. Seek medical

symptoms persist, seek medical attention.Launder clothing before re-use.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Although the material is not flammable, toxic fumes will be produced if involved in a fire. The residue, ash or char left after a
fire may have catalytic properties and may promote the re-ignition of flammable materials and vapours. Wear self-contained
breathing apparatus and personal protective equipment. Use any extinguisher suitable for the surrounding fire.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Wearing personal protective equipment, (see section 8), collect up the spillage and store in a suitable, sealed container.
Wash the site of the spillage with large volumes of water. Do not allow wash water to enter natural water courses.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
          Handling (JM)
Local exhaust extraction should be used and protective clothing, including gloves and eye protection should be worn. Do not
eat, drink, smoke or apply cosmetics whilst handling.
          Storage (JM)
Store in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
No Occupational Exposure Limit, MAK or TLV has been established for this material. If a risk of inhalation exists, users should
wear an appropriate filter type respirator. Alternatively, local exhaust extraction should be used. Suitable eye protection and
chemical resistant gloves should be worn. Vapour and fumes from all operations should be vented to external atmosphere via
a suitable collection or scrubbing system. Wash hands after using this material.
