Special Fire Fighting Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective equipment.
Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazards Formamide can produce toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and ammonia in fire
conditions. (Formaldehyde can react strongly with oxidizing materials.)
HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Effects of Overexposure Formamide causes irritation to when inhaled or ingested. May be absorbed
through skin. (Formaldehye can be destructive to the tissue of the upper
respiratory tract & eyes. Formaldehyde is a carcinogen) ALWAYS WEAR
GLOVES WHEN HANDLING
Emergency First Aid Procedures Wash affected area with water. Irrigate eyes for at least 15 minutes.
Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention immediately.

Incompatibility Strong oxidizing agents, protect from moisture, acids & bases.
Hazardous Decomposition Products Toxic fumes of CO, CO2, & Nitrogen Oxides.
SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES

Precautionary Labeling When pouring gel with 10X Denaturing Gel Buffer (8676), use hood. Product
contains formaldehyde.
