FUNCTION AND APPLICATION: This heavy-bodied cement is used for irrigation and pool pipes and fittings
Schedule 40 and Schedule 80, through 12".
OUTSTANDING PROPERTIES: TITE-SEAL庐 PVC SOLVENT CEMENT is unaffected by water, oil, gasoline,
ammonia, glycerine, steam, gas vapor, exhaust fumes and most hard-to-hold liquids. Withstands extreme
temperatures; will not shrink, crack or crumble. Remains pliable and will not harden, making connections
vibration-proof and easy to disassemble for repairs and adjustments. Prevents corrosion and ''freezing!' of metal
parts.
USE DIRECTIONS: Cement should be used within two years of date stamped on can. If not free-flowing, replace
cement.
1) Cut pipe square and remove all burrs.
2) Remove dirt, grease and moisture, using TITE-SEAL庐 HI-ETCH PRIMER.
3) Check dry fit. Pipe should go into fitting 1/3 of the way.
4) Apply an even, very liberal layer of cement to pipe. Coat fitting socket with liberal layer, but avoid
puddling. Put second generous coat on pipe. Cement must be more than enough to fill any gaps.
5) Assemble without delay while cement is still wet. If work is interrupted, re-coat parts and assemble As you
insert, twist pipe 3/4 turn and make sure pipe bottoms. Hold about 30 seconds to avoid push-out.
6) Allow about 15 minutes for good handling strength.
Cure time before testing depends on size, fit, temperature and pressure. A 24-hour cure will cover sizes through 6"
between 400 F and 1100 F. Below 400 F and for pipes larger than 6", a longer period is necessary.
PRECAUTIONS: Contains Tetrahydrofuran (CAS# 109-99-9), Methyl Ethyl Keytone (CAS# 78-93-3), and
Cycdohexanone (CAS# 108-94-1). Extremely Flammable. Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through skin. Harmful or
fatal if swallowed. FIRST AID: ACT IMMEDIATELY! Eyes: flush with water for at least 15 minutes while lifting
eyelids and get prompt medical attention. Skin: wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, get prompt medical
attention. Wash clothing before reuse. If inhaled, move to fresh air immediately. If breathing becomes difficult, get
prompt medical attention. Ingestion: do not induce vomiting. Call the Poison Control Center, physician, or Hospital
Emergency Room immediately.
STORAGE & HANDLING: Store in a cool place below 1200F. away from acids, ignition sources and oxidizing
agents. Use in well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors or contact with skin or eyes. Wearing contact lenses
while working with this product is inadvisable. Keep away from children.
DISPOSAL: Dispose of container, residue, and excess product in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
and regulations.
CONTAINER DESCRIPTION: This product is available in quart can sizes.
