HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Effects

Acute - Ingestion May cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract, with possible effects of upset stomach, nausea,
vomiting and diarrhoea.
Acute - Eye May cause irritation to the eyes, with effects including watering and tearing, pain and possible
burning
Acute - Skin May cause irritation to the skin. This material is not anticipated to be absorbed through the skin.
Acute - Inhalation May cause irritation to the respiratory tract.
Chronic May cause reddening of the skin or possible dermatitis in some susceptible individuals.

First Aid

Ingestion Thoroughly rinse mouth with water. If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information
Centre (Phone 113126). Do not make an unconscious person vomit. If vomiting occurs, place
victim face downward, head lower than hips, to prevent aspiration of material into the lungs.
Eye Irrigate with copious quantities of water for 15 minutes. Eyelids to be held open. Seek immediate
medical attention.
Skin Remove ALL contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. . If irritation
persists see a doctor.
Inhalation Remove victim from further exposure. Avoid becoming a casualty. Seek medical advice.
Other Information A first aid kit should be readily available, with eye bath.

Advice to Doctor Show this MSDS to the Doctor. Treat respiratory depression with assisted respiration. In severe
Hypotension, the circulation should be maintained with infusions of plasma or suitable electrolyte
Solutions.

Personal Protection

Protective Equipment If large quantities of this product are being handled, for example, in industrial environments then it
is recommended that protective clothing, gloves, chemical goggles or face shield, and respiratory
protection be worn. Select and use respirators in accordance with AS/NZS 1715. When high vapour
or mist levels are suspected then the use of the following: A half face piece respirator with organic
vapour (Type A) and dust/mist (Type P1) canister type is recommended. Filter capacity and
respirator type depends on exposure levels. If entering spaces where the airborne concentration of
a contaminate is unknown then the use of an Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) complying
with AS 1715 is recommended.

Storage and Transport

Storage Precautions STORAGE: The product is a Scheduled Poison (S4) and therefore must be stored and maintained
and used in accordance with the relevant State Poisons Act. Store below 250C (air conditioning).
Protect from light. Do not refrigerate. TRANSPORT: Bykahepa is not classified as a Dangerous
Good for the purpose of road and rail transport.

Spills and Disposal

Spills and Leaks Clear area of all unprotected personnel. Work up wind. Increase ventilation. Wear full protective
equipment to prevent skin and eye contamination and inhalation of vapours. Bund area using sand
or earth, prevent run off into drains and waterways. Collect and seal in properly labelled drums for
disposal. In the event of a contamination of sewers or waterways, notify the local environment
protection authority or emergency services. DISPOSAL: Refer to State Land Waste Management
Authority. Suitable for incineration by approved agent

Fire/Explos. Hazards Use water spray to cool fire exposed surfaces and to protect personnel, Shut off 'fuel' to fire.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Oxides of carbon, chlorine and noxious smoke. Fire Fighting
