deficiencies in piglets, calves and lambs. For domestic and farm animal treatment only.
Physical Description: A sterile, dark brown, aqueous solution.
Active Ingredients: Iron Dextran Complex CAS* 9004-66-4 High Content 100 mg/mL
Vitamin A Palmitate CAS* 79-81-2 10,000 IU/mL
Cholecalciferol (Vit - D) CAS* 67-97-0 1,000 IU/mg
Tocopheryl Acetate(Vit-E) CAS* 7695-91-2 10 mg/mL
It contains 0.5% Phenol as a preservative.

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION


HEALTH EFFECTS
Swallowed: If swallowed in doses higher than 60mg Fe/kg body weight the liberated iron ions will be toxic and
dangerous to the health. Symptoms: Nausea/vomiting and stomach pains - acidosis - multiple organ damages.
Eye: Contact may cause temporary stinging or redness.
-Skin: Slight skin irritation may occur.
Inhaled: If inhaled, the toxic limit for phenol in breathing air is 19 g/m3.
FIRST AID
Swallowed: Treatment: The patient should be transferred into hospital for emptying of stomach - and treatment
with antidote: Desferal (Cibe Ceigy)
Eye: Flush out with a gentle stream of clean water for 15 minutes. Seek medical advice if soreness or redness
persists.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use. Wash contact areas with soap and water.
Inhalation: Remove from further exposure. If unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate medical attention. If
breathing has stopped, use mouth to mouth resuscitation.


PRECAUTIONS FOR USE


Exposure Limits: Use only as directed.
Ventilation: No special ventilation is recommended under normal conditions of use. No special respiratory
protection equipment is recommended under anticipated conditions of normal use.
Personal Protection: Avoid eye and skin contact. Wear eye protection (face visor or goggles) if accidental eye
contact can occur. Wear PVC gloves if skin contact is likely to occur. Observe good personal hygiene.
Flammability: Non flammable. Avoid heat and sources of ignition.


SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION


Storage and Transport: Store in a cool dry places 2 - 15掳C. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
Containers should always be kept closed in storage and properly labelled. Store only in original containers.
Spills and Disposal: For major spills dam and recover. Prevent entry into drainage systems, rivers, etc. Collect
with absorbent material such as sand, earth or sawdust. Advise local authorities. Treat spill area with plenty of
water.
Sewage: If more than 100 L of iron dextran solution is lost into your sewage system - contact the local
authorities to explain to them the strong colouring of the waste water. The iron dextran does not damage the
microbial activity in the treatment plant.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Non flammable. Use dry powder, foam, carbon dioxide (CO2) or water spray as
extinguishing agent.
