HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
HEALTH EFFECTS
Prostaglandins of the F2伪 type may cause broncho-spasm, and abortion in pregnant women if
accidentally administrated.
Acute
Swallowed: May result in nausea and vomiting. Broncho-spasm may occur in
asthmatics.
Eye: Mild irritant.
Skin: Absorbed through the skin. Mild irritant. May result in sensitisation
reactions 鈥? skin rash, dermatitis. Possibility of abortion in pregnant
women.
Inhaled: Does not present an inhalation problem.
Injected: Localised site reaction may occur. Toxicity may lead to broncho-
spasm.
Chronic
Sensitisation reaction may occur from prolonged or repeated exposure.
If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poison Information Centre
First Aid
phone 13 11 26 (Aus.) or 03 474 7000 (NZ).
Swallowed: Rinse mouth out with water. Give plenty of water or bland fluids to
drink. Seek medical advice. Show MSDS to a medical practitioner.
Eye: Rinse well with water for at least 15 minutes.
Skin: Wash skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing.
Inhaled: Would not normally present an inhalation problem.
Injected: Treat as for needle-stick injury. Wash area well with disinfected. If
other symptoms are evident seek medical advice.
First Aid Facilities:
Advice to Doctor Contains cloprostenol sodium, a synthetic prostaglandin F2伪 drug.
The drug is a potent luteolytic agent and abortifactant, and may cause
broncho-spasm. Should respiratory embarrassment occur, a rapid
acting broncho-dilator such as isoprenaline or salbutamol by
inhalation is indicated.

Product Name: JURAMATE INJECTION

Personal Protection: Prostaglandins of the F2伪 type may cause broncho-spasm in man,
although the possible incidence of this effect with JURAMATE is not
known. Juramate can be absorbed through the skin and therefore,
care should be taken when handling this product, especially by
women of child bearing age and also by asthmatics. Wear rubber
gloves and protective clothing. Take care to avoid accidental spillage
or self-injection
Flammability: Not flammable
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage: Juramate is a Scheduled Poison and must be stored and used in
accordance with the relevant Poisons Legislation. Store away from
light at less then 250C. Store away from foodstuffs. Keep out of reach
of children.
Transport: Juramate is not classified as a Dangerous Good for the purpose of
road or rail transport.
Spills: Avoid contact with skin when cleaning up any spills. Wear protective
gloves and clothing. Absorb onto vermiculite or other absorbent
material, then was small spills with plenty of water.
Disposal: Dispose of cleaning materials, packaging, and contaminated syringes
and needles by wrapping with paper and placing in the garbage.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Non-flammable. If involved in major fire the product may give off toxic
or irritant fumes.
