Inhalation: May cause irritation. M ay cau se pneu mo coniosis.
Ingestion: May be harm ful, effects not kn own. M ay affect gastrointestinal and urinary sy stems.
Skin : May cause irritation. M ay cau se allergic skin reactions.
Eye: May cause irritation.
Chro nic Effects:

Ingestion: Stom ach pains, vom iting, diarrhe a, liver d am age and kidn ey dam age have bee n rep orted from prolong ed ex posure to
chromium.
Skin : Repeated con tact may cause eczem atous de rmatitis.

Other: Insoluble chromium compounds exhibit very low oral toxicity. No specific signs of chromium toxicity have been reported.
Routes of Entry: Inhalation, ingestion and skin.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: None specified.
Carcino genicity: NTP: No IARC: No OSHA: No

EMERG ENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air, if not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
INGESTION: Wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Call a physician immediately.
SK IN: Remove contaminated clothing, flood skin with large amounts of water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
EYE: Flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, contact a physician.

Steps to Be Taken in Case Material Is Released or Spilled: Wearing full protective equipment, cover spill with dry sand or
verm iculite, m ix well and sweep or scoo p up and place in container for dispo sal. Av oid ra ising d ust. Ventilate area and w ash sp ill
site after material pickup is complete.

Waste Disposal Method: Dispose of waste in an approved hazardous waste landfill. Contact federal, state or local authorities for
prop er disposal proced ures.

IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Precautions to Be Taken in Handling and Storage: Keep container tightly closed. Store in a coo l, dry, w ell-ventilated area.
Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure. Avoid contact with acid. Wash throughly after handling.

Wo rk Practices: Maintain good housekeeping procedures and implement engineering and work practice controls to reduce and
maintain concentration of exposure at low levels. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly after handling and

before eating or smoking and at the end of the work shift. Do not shake clothing or other items to remove dust. Use a vacuum. Do
not blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Avoid dust inhalation and direct skin contact. Maintain eyewash capable of
sustained flushing, safety drench shower and facilities for washing.
