V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Acute E ffects:

Inhalation: No inhalation h azard s of gallium have bee n identified. Good in dustrial hygiene practice sugge sts limiting exposure to all
repairable particulates.
Ingestion: Evidence suggests low toxicity potential due to poor absorption by the oral route.
Skin : Ma y cau se irritation . Som e sou rces su gge st gallium ma y cau se dermatitis, althou gh p atch testing h um ans w ith metallic
gallium did n ot cau se a positive reactio n.
Eye: May cause eye irritation.

Chro nic Effects: Intravenous administration to humans caused metallic taste, skin rashes and bone marrow depression as well as
anorexia, nause a and v om iting. May cause dam age to k idneys.

Carcino genicity: This product does not contain any ingredient designated by IARP, NTP, ACGIH or OSHA as a probable human
carcinogen.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Overexposure: No data found.

EMERG ENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

INHALATION: Rem ove from area o f exp osure. If no t breathing , give artificial respiration. If breathin g is difficult, giv e oxyge n.
GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
INGESTION: If swallowed and victim is fully conscious, induce vomiting imm ediately by giving two glasses of water and sticking
finger down throat. GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
SK IN: In case of contact, immediately wash with soap and plenty of water for at least 5 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and
shoes. Thoro ugh ly clean co ntam inated clothing and shoes before reu se. Get m edical attention if irritation develops or persists.
EYE: In case of contact, imm ediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 m inutes using an eyewa sh fountain. Lift upper
and low er lids and rinse well under them . Get m edical attention if irritation develops of persists.

NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: All treatments should be based on observed signs and symptoms of distress in the patient. Consideration
should be given to the possibility that overexposure to materials other than this product may have occurred. Treat symptomatically.

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROC EDURES

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: We ar appropriate protective gear. Sweep solid into appropriate
container and hold for recycling. If possible, freeze liquid gallium with CO 2 and place in sealed container for recycling. Ven tilate
area. Wash spill area after material pickup is complete.

Waste Disposal Method: Dispose o f in accord ance w ith Loca l, State and Federal regu lations.


VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

Respiratory Protection: Use a NIOSH/MSH A approved air purifying respirator with appropriate cartridge.
Ventilation: Provide adequ ate ventilation. U se local exh aust as need ed to m aintain airborne exposure below control lim its.

Protective Clothing: Work clothing and g loves.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses w ith side shields.
Other Protective Equipment: Maintain a sink, safety shower and eyewash station in the work area. Have oxygen readily available.


IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Other Precautions: Store in cool dry place, in tightly sealed containers. Wear gloves in order to prevent contamination of the
produc t. Avoid m oisture as this w ill discolo r produc t. Avoid d irect or prolong ed co ntact w ith skin and eyes. Wa sh ha nds thoro ugh ly
after handling. Do not rub eyes with soiled hands. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.

Use good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating and
smoking. Do not blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Maintain eyewash capable of sustained flushing, safety drench
shower and facilities for washing.
