Effects of Exposure:

To the best of our knowledge the acute and chronic toxicity of this substance is not fully known.

Acute E ffects: Acute ex posure to bery llium m ay cau se derm atitis, chronic skin ulcers, rhinitis, nasopharyng itis, epistaxis, bronchitis,
pneumonitis possibly fatal, fever, rales, dyspnea and substernal pain.

Chro nic Effects: Chronic exposure causes a delayed form of lung disease which may be delayed for five years or more after
exp osure stop s. Sym ptom s include co ugh ing, sh ortness of b reath, loss of a ppe tite, weight loss and fatigue. Cyano sis is com mo n w ith
elevated pulse and respiratory failure. Gold compounds m ay cause irritation to the eyes and respiratory tract. Aplastic anemia may
result fro m d am age to the b lood form ing o rgan s. Gold has caused tumo rs and repro duc tive effects in laboratory anim als via im plant,
intraperitone al and subcutan eous ro utes.

EMERG ENCY FIRST AID PROCEDU RES:

INHALATION: Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Seek immediate medical advice.
INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting; immediately call for medical help. Seek imm ediate medical advice.
SK IN: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Immed iately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Seek
immediate medical advice.
EYE: Rinse opened eye fo r several minutes under runn ing water. Then co nsult a doctor.

Ventilation: Properly operating chemical fume hood designed for hazardous chemicals and having an average face velocity of at
least 100 feet per minute.

IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Precautions to Be Taken in Handling and Storage: Keep container tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed
containers. Ensure good ventilation at the workplace. Open and handle container with care.

Wo rk Practices: Implement engineering and work practice controls to reduce and maintain concentration exposure. Use good
housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating or smoking. Do not
blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Maintain eyewash capable of sustained flushing, safety drench shower and
facilities for washing.
