Flam mab le Limits: Upper: N/A Lower: N/A

Extingu ishing Media: Flammable solid in powdered form. If involved in fire, do not use water, CO 2, or halogenated extinguishing
agents. Use dry chemical extinguishing agents, dry sand or dry ground dolomite.

Special Fire Fighting Procedures: No special firefighting procedures needed. Use normal procedures which include wearing
NIOSH/MSHA approved self-contained breathing apparatus, flame and chemical resistant clothing; hats, boots and gloves. If without
risk, rem ove ma terial from th e fire area. Co ol container with water fro m m axim um distance. Fu me s from fire are haza rdous. Isolate
runoff to prevent environmental pollution.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazard: Elemental silicon is flamm able when exposed to flame or by chemical reaction with oxidizing
agents. May have a violent reaction with alk ali carbon ates; oxidan ts; (Al+PbO); Ca; CsC 2; CaF 2; F 2; IF3; MnF 3; Rb2C 2; FNO; AgF;
and N aK alloy . When hea ted it will react with w ater or steam to prod uce hy drog en gas.
