V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Effects of Exposure:

Zirconium is not an important industrial poison. Most zirconium com pounds in comm on use are insoluble and considered
inert. Pu lmo nary gran ulom a in zirconiu m w orkers has been rep orted and sodiu m z ircon ium lactate h as been held responsible for skin
granu lomas. Avo id inhalation of Zr-co ntaining aerosols, which can cause lun g gran ulom as.

Tungsten compounds are considered somewhat more toxic than those of molybdenum. However, industrially, this element
does not constitute an important health hazard. Recent studies have failed to indicate any serious toxic effect following the inhalation
or ing estion of va rious tung sten co mp oun ds, althoug h heavy exposure to the dust or the ingestion o f large am oun ts of the solub le
com pou nds pro duces a certain rate of m ortality in experimental anim als.

Acute E ffects:

Inhalation: May act as a nuisance du st. Coughing, sneezing, difficulty breathing may occu r.
Ingestion: Insolu ble tungsten an d zirconiu m c om pou nds are co nside red to xicologically ine rt.
Skin : Mechanical irritation only.
Eye: Mechanical irritation. Inflammation and redness possible.

Chro nic Effects:

Inhalation: Chronic exposure may cause pulmonary granulomas. May cause irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose and
throat.
Ingestion: No data available.
Skin : Chron ic expo sure m ay cau se derm atitis and skin granulom as.
Eye: No data available.

Target Organs: No data available.
Routes of Entry: Inhalation
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Respiratory disorders.
Carcino genicity: NTP: No IARC: No OSHA: No

EMERG ENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air; give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Seek medical attention immediately.
INGESTION: Give 2 glasses of water. Induce vomiting if large amounts were ingested. Seek medical attention immediately.
SK IN: Brush material off skin, wash area with soap and water. Seek medical attention imm ediately.
EYE: Flush eyes with lukewarm water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention imm ediately.

Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROC EDURES

Steps to Be Taken in Case Material Is Released or Spilled: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
Isolate the area where the spill occurred, insure proper ventilation is available. Vacuum up the spill using a high efficiency unit and
place in a co ntainer for proper d isposal. Tak e care not to raise dust.

Waste Disposal Method: Dispose o f in accord ance w ith Loca l, State and Federal regu lations.

VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Respiratory Protection: Wear a NIO SH-app roved du st-mist-fume cartridge respirator.
Ventilation: Han dle in a dry , controlled atmosphere. Use lo cal exhau st to m aintain exposure below TL V. G eneral exhau st is
recomm ended

Protective Gloves: Neoprene
Eye Protection: Safety Glasses

-Zirconium Tungstate 2-
Other Protective Equipment: Wear protective gear suitable to prevent contamination.

IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Precautions to Be Taken in Handling and Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place. Wash hands and face
thoroughly after handling and before eating.

Wo rk Practices: Implement engineering and work practice controls to reduce and maintain concentration of exposure. Handle in a
controlled, inert atmosphere. Minimize exposure by using local exhaust and an enclosing process if/when possible. Use good
housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating or smoking. Do not
blow du st off clothing or skin with com pressed air.

The abo ve inform ation is believ ed to be co rrect, but do es no t purp ort to b e all inclu sive an s shall be used on ly as a g uide.
ESPI shall not be held liab le for any d am age resulting from h and ling o r from contact with the abov e pro duc t.
