V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Effects of Exposure:

To the best of our knowledge the chemical, physical and toxicological properties of tungsten chloride have not been
thoroughly investigated and reported.
Tungsten compoun ds may be irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract. Animal studies suggest that soluble tungsten
com pou nds ha ve the p otential for cau sing adv erse health effects involving the gastrointestinal tract and c entral nerv ous system . These
effects have not been observed in humans. Chronic exposure to tungsten compounds m ay result in permanent lung damage.

Inhalation: SEVERE IRRITAN T AN D CO RROSIV E. Chronic exposure may result in permanent lung damage.
Ingestion: SEV ER E IR RIT AN T A ND CO RROS IVE . Swallow ing w ill lead to a strong corrosiv e effect on mo uth and th roat and to
the danger of perforation of esophagus and stomach.
Skin : SEV ERE IRRIT AN T A ND CO RRO SIVE to skin and m ucou s mem branes.
Eye: SEVERE IRRITANT AND CORROSIVE.
Medical Conditions, if any, Aggravated by the Chemical: No data

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROC EDURES

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Wearing full protective equipment, isolate spill area and provide
ventilation. Vacuum up spill using a high efficiency particulate absolute (HEPA ) air filter and place in a closed container for proper
dispo sal. Take ca re no t to raise d ust.
Waste Disposal: Con sult state, local or federal regulation s for proper disp osal.

VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

Respiratory Protection: NIOSH - approved d ust-mist-vapor cartridge respirator.
Ventilation Req uirements: Handle in a controlled environment under dry argon. Use local exhaust to maintain concentration at low
expo sure levels.
Protective Gloves: Impervious gloves Eye Protection: ANSI app roved safety goggles.
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Protective gear suitable to prevent contamination.

IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Handling and Storage: Han dle an d store under d ry arg on. K eep container tightly sealed . Protect from hum idity an d m oisture .
Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers. Store away fro m w ater/m oisture . Ensure g ood ventilation at the w orkplace .
Wash thorough ly after use.

Wo rk Practices: Imp lem ent en gineering and wo rk practice controls to re duc e and ma intain c onc entration o f exp osure at low levels.
Use good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating or
smok ing. Do not blow dust off clothing or skin with comp ressed air.
