Description/Indications:
Chromaclone速 PVS Impression Material is a superhydrophilic vinyl
polysiloxane impression material and is an exciting new advancement in
Chromaclone
速
prosthodontics.
PVS Chromaclone PVS can be utilized for all final impressions for fixed or
removable prosthodontics including crowns, bridges, dentures, partial
dentures, and implants or whenever impression accuracy is of the prime
Impression Material concern. Chromaclone PVS putty or Clone Bite can be used for all bite
registrations.
Procedure:
CARTRIDGES:
1. Load the cartridge in the dispensing gun.
2. Immediately prior to taking the impression remove the cartridge cap and discard.
3. Gently squeeze the dispenser to bleed enough material from the cartridge to ensure even flow of the base
and catalyst. (About 1/4 inch of material).
4. Attach the mixing tip.
5. Squeeze the dispenser in order to extrude the product.
6. After use, store cartridges on end with the used mixing tips attached to protect the remaining materials from
contamination.
7. Always bleed the cartridge before each use (see number 3 above).
TIPS:
Use Ultradents Impression Mixing Tips attached to impression cartridge with intraoral tip to mix material and inject
around preparation or use Ultradents Impression FX Tip and impression syringe to inject and burnish material around
preparation.
PLEASE NOTE:
? The temperature of Chromaclone PVS Impression Material affects the working and setting times.
Ideally it should be kept at room temperature (18-25 C) or (65-77 F).
? Avoid contaminating Chromaclone PVS Impression Material with chemicals that could inhibit the set
(e.g. acrylic and methacrylate residues, latex rubber and sulphur compounds).
ULTRADENT UNIVERSAL TRAY ADHESIVE:
Use of the tray adhesive is very important. For an acurate impression, coat tray with a thin layer including the edge.
Let adhesive dry for 2 minutes before making impression.
TRAYS:
We recommend Chromaclone plastic disposable trays or any other rigid trays. We recommend applying a thin layer of
tray adhesive to all trays.
DISPENSING AND GUN ASSEMBLY:
The Ultradent Impression Gun can be sterilized using heat sterilizers, including STATIM Autoclaves, conventional
autoclaves, chemical vapor, or dry heat sterilizers.
DISINFECTION:
The impressions should be rinsed under cold running water after removal from the mouth. Soaking for 30 minutes in
liquid disinfectants such as 2% gluteraldhyde (acidic), 0.5% - 1% sodium hypochlorite, 0.1% - 1.5% providone-iodone
(halogenated phenol) or 0.13% glutaraldehyde (neutral) will not affect the surface or dimensions.
CASTING:
The impression may be poured immediately after removal from the mouth following disinfection. Surface tension will be
reduced if the impression is briefly washed out with a surfactant. Rinse thoroughly afterwards with water.
Ultradent Impression Materials are compatible with all dental stones, epoxy resins, and polyurethanes.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
There are no known contra-indications provided when the product is used as directed. There are no known harmful
reactions or secondary effects on patients and/or dental personnel using vinyl polysiloxane impression materials.
IMPORTANT NOTES AND PRECAUTIONS
The temperature of Chromaclone PVS Impression Material affects working time. Ideally it should be kept at room
temperature between 5-27 C (41-80 F). Even within those boundaries, changes in temperature will affect the working
time: A 2 C temperature increase will shorten working time 10-15 seconds; conversely, a 2 C temperature decrease
will lengthen working time 10-15 seconds. You may refrigerate to increase working and setting times. Always bleed?
the cartridge before each use by extruding a quarter inch of material before applying a fresh mixing tip. This will ensure
even dispensing of fresh base and catalyst pastes. For even more precise application, Ultradents Intraoral tips are
available.
1. Certain chemical agents like superoxol or hydrogen peroxide may interfere with the set of Chromaclone PVS,
care should be taken to remove these residual materials from impression site. Latex gloves (or anything that contains
sulfur) and hand lotions can inhibit or contaminate setting of all Chromaclone PVS impression materials.
Powder free or polyethylene gloves are recommended or wash hands thoroughly and mix putty bare handed.
2. Proper care should always be taken to ensure good preparation, cleanliness, and moisture control including
hemorrhage and saliva in order to achieve an adequate impression.
3. There is no bubbling or gasing with Chromaclone PVS.
4. Disinfection can be accomplished with any appropriate disinfectant following the original manufacturers
procedures.
5. Multiple casts can be poured from an impression and Chromaclone PVS is compatible with all gypsum
products, electroplating and refractory casts for up to 15 days.
6. Temperature affects all set times. All testing for working and setting times was done at 72 F/22 C.
Shelf life is at least 3 years.
7. Do not wear latex gloves or hand lotions while mixing the putty. Wash hands and mix equal amounts of
catalyst and base.

Chromaclone PVS Impression Material is addition-reaction type silicone impression material. It may not be combined
with standard or condensation type silicone materials or poly ether materials.
