Emergency Overview

APPEARANCE AND ODOR: Gray paste; solvent odor.

Flammable chemical. Use water spray or fog to cool materials in or near fire. Fire is difficult to extinguish. Vapors may travel,
and can be ignited by a remote source.

Potential Health Effects
Summary
Vapors from this product may cause eye and upper respiratory irritation, dry throat and mouth, nausea, headache, dizziness,
drowsiness, and coma in extreme cases. Prolonged exposures may lead to liver and kidney injury. Refer to Section 8 of this
MSDS for the proper personal protective equipment.
Inhalation
It is possible to breathe this material under certain conditions of handling and use (ie. during heating, spraying, or stirring).
Breathing small amounts of this material during normal handling is not likely to cause harmful effects. Breathing large
amounts may be harmful. Symptoms usually occur at air concentrations higher than the recommended exposure limits (see
Section 8).
Skin
Can cause skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated contact may dry the skin. Symptoms may include redness, burning, drying,
and cracking of skin, burns and other skin damage. Additional symptoms of skin contact may include: skin blistering.
Absorption
Passage of this material into the body through the skin is possible, but it is unlikely that this would result in harmful effects
during safe handling and use.
Ingestion
Swallowing large amounts may be harmful. This material can get into the lungs during swallowing or vomiting. This results in
lung inflammation and other lung injury.
Eyes
May cause mild eye irritation. Symptoms include stinging, tearing, and redness.
Primary Routes of Entry (Exposure)
Inhalation, skin absorption, skin contact, eye contact, and ingestion.

Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure
Preexisting skin conditions, asthma-like conditions, and heart disorders.
Section 4 - First Aid Measures
First Aid: Inhalation
Remove individual to fresh air and administer artificial respiration or oxygen as necessary. If symptoms persist, seek medical
attention.
First Aid: Skin
Wash exposed skin with soap and water. If irritation develops or persists, seek medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing
before reuse.
First Aid: Ingestion
Product is not intended to be ingested or eaten. If this product is ingested, do not induce vomiting and seek medical attention
immediately.
First Aid: Eyes
Flush eyes with large amounts of water for 5-15 minutes. If irritation develops, or persists, seek medical attention.
First Aid: Notes to Physician
Inhalation of high concentrations of this material, as could occur in enclosed spaces or during deliberate abuse, may be
associated with cardiac arrhythmias. Sympathomimetic drugs may initiate cardiac arrhythmias in persons exposed to this
material. This material is an aspiration hazard. Potential danger from aspiration must be weighed against oral toxicity when
deciding whether to induce vomiting.

General Fire Hazards
DANGER! Extremely flammable liquid. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel along ground or may be moved by
ventilation and ignited by pilot lights, other flames, sparks, heaters, smoking, electrical motors, static discharge, or other
ignition sources at locations distant from material handling point and flash back.

NFPA Rating: Health = 1 Fire = 2 Reactivity = 0
Hazardous Combustion Products
May form carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and various hydrocarbons.
Extinguishing Media
Foam (ie. AFFF), carbon dioxide, dry chemical
Fire Fighting Equipment/Instructions
Firefighters should wear full-face, self-contained breathing apparatus and impervious protective clothing. Firefighters should
avoid inhalation of combustion products.
Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures
Containment Procedures
Remove all sources of ignition. Evacuate and ventilate spill area. Dam spill area with sand, earth, or other suitable absorbent.
Prevent entry of material into sewers, other water sources, or land areas. Wear full protective clothing and respiratory
protection during clean-up as required to maintain exposures below the applicable exposure limit. Shovel absorbed material
into containers in well-ventilated area.
Clean-Up Procedures
No additional information available.
Section 7 - Handling and Storage
Handling Procedures
Use away from all sources of heat, flame, or sparks. Do not smoke while using. Handling equipment must be grounded to
prevent sparking. Handle with non-sparking tools. Wash with soap and water before eating or drinking. Launder
contaminated clothing.
