FEAST WATSON Proofseal is a quick drying spirit-based primer.

Use FEAST WATSON Proofseal as the first coat on unsealed timber, parquetry and cork flooring,either to keep the light colour to
the timber, or for sealing off waxy timbers such as Brusbox and Tallowood

Application Guide
Surface Preparation
NEW TIMBER
All timber surfaces should be thoroughly clean, dry and free from wax, oil, grease and other contaminants. Wash with mineral
turpentine if needed to remove wax and grease, and allow to dry.
Surface should be sanded in accordance with the Abrasive manufacturers recommendations.
Remove all traces of dust from the work area.
Fill nail holes with a water-based wood putty - do not use a linseed oil putty.
PREVIOUSLY COATED TIMBER
All timber surfaces should be thoroughly clean, dry and free from wax, oil, grease and other contaminants.
Surface should be sanded in accordance with the Abrasive manufacturers recommendations.
Remove all traces of dust from the work area.
Application Procedure and Equipment
Stir thoroughly before and during use with a broad flat stirrer to maintain a uniform solution.
Apply by brush, pad or roller, always laying off along the grain.

Offices. Health Effects: Splashes to eyes will
cause irritation. Prolonged contact with liquid is
harmful and inhalation of vapour and spray
mists may produce respiratory irritation and
headaches.
Disposal Do not dispose down the drain. Refer to your
Protective Personal Protective Equipment: Wear eye
local council for correct disposal procedures
Equipment protection, protective clothing and gloves, and if
spraying wear a respirator with a combined
vapour/particulate cartridge.

Precautions and Limitations
Do not apply product if temperature is below 10掳C or above 30掳C or is likely to reach these temperatures during the drying period.
Equally, relative humidity should not exceed 85%.
Only apply to new timber or to timber from which all previous finishes have been removed, unless you have checked the
compatibility of this product over previous coatings to your satisfaction.
Moisture content of timber should be close to equilibrium moisture content, usually 10-15%, but not exceeding 15%, for satisfactory
application.
