4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Swallowed:
Not a likely source of exposure, however, if product is concentrated and if swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. If
conscious, give 1 to 2 glasses of water to drink. If sprayed in mouth, rinse and give further water to drink.

Eye:
If contents of cylinder are vented directly into the eyes then blindness may occur due to freeze burns. Keep victim calm
and warm. In case of freeze burns URGENTLY transport to hospital or doctor. In normal use situations, however, if
material is splashed or lightly sprayed into eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring eye lids are
held open. If irritation persists transport to hospital or doctor.

Skin:
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately - Clothing frozen to the skin should be thawed before being
removed - In case of frostbite, thaw with lukewarm water. Immediately transport to hospital or doctor. In normal use
situations, however, if product is lightly sprayed onto the skin, immediately remove any contaminated clothing and
wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists transport to hospital or doctor.

Inhaled:
Remove victim to fresh air - Apply resuscitation if victim is not breathing - Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.

First Aid Facilities:
Eye wash fountain, safety shower and normal wash room facilities.

Treat symptomatically.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Fire/Explosion Hazard
If safe to do so, move undamaged containers from fire area. If involved in a fire cans may explode if subjected to heat
greater than 548C.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Upon heating to high temperatures or burning in Emits oxides of carbon, HCl
and fluorine entities.
Fire Fighting Procedures: Fire fighters to wear Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) in confined spaces, in
oxygen deficient atmospheres or if exposed to products of decomposition. Full protective clothing is also recommended.
Extinguishing Media: Use foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical powder.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Precautions for Safe Handling:
Keep aerosol containers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Store away from oxidizing agents. Store away
from sources of heat, ignition, sparks, flames or electrical discharges. Do not store above 508 C. Do not get liquid or
mist in eyes. Provide adequate ventilation.

Conditions for Safe Storage:
Store in original packages as approved by manufacturer. For further information please refer to the Engineering
Controls of this MSDS.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Emergency Procedures:
Cauti on! Aerosol container. ELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area).
Contents are under pressure. Assess situation, if safe, remove leaking aerosol container to well ventilated area (outside,
away from people and buildings).

Methods and Materials for Containment and Clean Up Procedures:
Isolate area until gas has dispersed. If possible, turn leaking containers so that gas escapes rather than liquid. If fire risk
is possible, use water spray to reduce vapors or divert vapor cloud drift. Do not direct water at spill or source of leak.
Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.

Maintain adequate ventilation at all times. In most circumstances natural ventilation systems are adequate.

Personal Protection Equipment
GLOVES: Not normally required, however, if can is punctured or leaking then use thermally insulated gloves.
EYES: Chemical goggles or spectacles to protect eyes.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid breathing of vapours, mists or spray. Select and use respirators in
accordance with AS/NZS 1715/1716. When mists, sprays or vapours exceed the exposure standards then the use of a
half-face respirator fitted with an organic vapour cartridge is recommended. Filter capacity and respirator type depends
on exposure levels. If entering spaces where the airborne concentration of a contaminant is unknown then the use of a
Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) complying with AS/NZS 1715 / 1716, or any other acceptable International
Standard is recommended.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
CHEMICAL STABILITY:
Stable under normal conditions of use. Unstable at temperatures exceeding (~978C) or with flame contact.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID:
Ignition sources and mixing with incompatibles.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS:
Strong mineral acids (sulfuric, nitric and hydrochloric), and oxidizing agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Emits oxides of carbon, HCl and fluorine entities.

HAZARDOUS REACTIONS:
Will not occur.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
Swallowed:
Harmful if swallowed. May cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach with effects including pains in the stomach,
which may lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Overexposure to methanol has been suggested as a cause of the
following effects in both laboratory animals and humans: Liver abnormalities, kidney damage, eye damage, lung
damage, brain damage and nervous system damage. Methanol has been reported to cause death or serious irreversible
injury such as blindness in humans. Onset of symptoms may be delayed for 18 - 24 hours and are similar in respect to
ethanol poisoning, being staggering gait, euphoria, deliriums, coma and death.

Eye:
May cause irritation to the eyes, with effects including: tearing, pain, stinging and blurred vision.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION (Continued)
Skin:
Harmful by skin contact. This product will be absorbed through the skin with resultant toxic effects, similar to those of
swallowed. May cause irritation to the skin, with effects including; Redness and itchiness.

Inhaled:
Harmful if inhaled. May cause central nervous system effects. Effects may be similar to ingestion(swallowing). May
cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory system with effects including: Dizziness, headache and loss of co-
ordination.

Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may lead to dermatitis. Product may also be absorbed through the skin with resultant
toxic effects. Prolonged or repeated exposure may lead to irreversible damage to health.

There is no toxicological information available for this product, however, for;

Methanol:

Swallowing as little as 28 - ~ 130 g of methanol has been reported to cause death or serious irreversible injury such as
blindness in humans. Studies in experimental animals indicate that the metabolism of methanol to formic acid results in
metabolic acidosis and irreversible damage to the optic nerve may occur. Ingestion of this product, can cause blindness
and death. Onset may be delayed for 18 - 24 hours. Symptoms are similar to those of ethanol alcohol stupor.

Rat
Inhalation LC50(rat): 64000 ppm/4H
Oral LD50(rat): 5628 mg/kg

Irritation - Rabbit Draize test skin

Dermal LD50(rabbit): 20 mg/24H
REACTION: Moderate

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The 1,1-DICHLORO-1-FLUOROETHANE component of this product is considered to be environmental hazardous
and this component is dangerous to the ozone layer. Avoid release to the environment.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Seek expert advice in all cases dealing with leaking or suspicious cylinders. Remove all unnecessary personnel from the
area. If safe to do so, move container to well ventilated area, away from all personnel and allow to naturally vent to
atmosphere.
