Emergency Procedures:
Combustible liquid. Avoid all sources of ignition. Keep unnecessary people away; Isolate hazard area and deny entry.
Ventilate area. Wear suitable protective equipment as outlined under personal protection in this MSDS.

Methods and Materials for Containment and Clean Up Procedures:
Throw diatomaceous earth onto spill. DO NOT use sawdust. ALLOW TO ABSORB. Use non-sparking tools or
HEPA vacuum system to pick up. Place into labelled drum(s) for later disposal. If risk of fire, blanket the spill with
foam or use water fog to disperse vapour clouds. Consult an expert regarding disposal of this product.

alkalis, acids and oxidizing agents. For further information please refer to the Engineering Controls of this MSDS.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Exposure Standards

No exposure standards are available for this product, however, the following exposure standards have been assigned by
[NOHSC] to the following components of the product:

CRYSTALLINE SILICA - QUARTZ
[NOHSC]
[TWA] 0.2 mg/m3

TALC
[NOHSC]
[TWA] 2.5 mg/m3

References: A*;R

EPOXY RESIN
[NOHSC]
The various epoxy resins of bisphenol A & F utilized in this product are considered sensitisers.

Notices: Sen

Sen Notation:
Some substances can cause a specific immune response in some people. Such substances are called sensitisers and the
development of a specific immune response is termed 'sensitisation'. Exposure to a sensitiser, once sensitisation has
occurred, may manifest itself as a skin rash or inflammation or as an asthmatic condition, in many situations, only a
small dose which may be far below a TWA or STEL, in some susceptible individuals this may trigger violent and
severe adverse reactions.

Engineering Controls
Maintain adequate ventilation at all times. Prevent accumulation of vapour in hollows or sumps. Eliminate any sources
of ignition.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION (Continued)
Personal Protection Equipment
GLOVES: The use of nitrile or neoprene.
EYES: Chemical goggles or spectacles with side shields to protect eyes.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid breathing of vapours. Select and use respirators in accordance with AS/NZS
1715/1716. The use of an organic vapour respirator is recommended. Filter capacity and respirator type depends on
exposure levels and type of contaminant. If entering spaces where the airborne concentration of a contaminant is
unknown then the use of a Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with positive pressure air supply complying with
AS/NZS 1715 / 1716, or any other acceptable International Standard is recommended.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No adverse health effects are expected, if the product is handled in accordance with this Material Safety Data Sheet and
the product label. Symptoms and effects that may arise if the product is mishandled and overexposure occurs are:

ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
Swallowed:
Swallowing small quantities of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol may cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach with effects
including pains in the stomach, which may lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Swallowing large quantities reported
in acute poisoning which resulted in death within 2-3 days were swelling in the brain, haemorrhages in visceral pleura
& epicardium, hypervolemia of organs, and expanded lung. Mucosa of the upper digestive tract & stomach showed
swelling, hypervolemia, haemorrhage, and necrosis. In death occurring after 3 days, liver weight increased & showed
yellowish-brown cross section with haemorrhages. This product may also upon vomiting be aspirated into the lungs
leading to chemical pneumonitis.

Eye:
Will cause irritation to the eyes, with effects including: tearing, pain, stinging and blurred vision.

EPOXY BR 22 Part A
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION (Continued)
Skin:
Will cause irritation to the skin, with effects including; Redness and itchiness.

Inhaled:
Mists or vapours may cause irritation to the respiratory system with effects including: Dizziness, headache, coughing,
loss of co-ordination and chest pains.

Chronic:
Prolonged contact may cause severe eye irritation and some form of permanent eye damage may occur.
Prolonged or repeated inhalation exposure may lead to cancer.

Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol:

Oral LD50(rat): 1,600 - 3,200 mg/kg
IRRITATION:
Standard Draize Test:
Route: Eye, 20 mg/24H,
REACTION: Moderate.

Crystalline Silica:

Exposure to respirable crystalline silica may cause delayed (chronic) lung disease known as silicosis; Acute or rapidly
developing silicosis may occur in a period of time in heavy exposure in certain occupations such as sandblasting,
quarrying or mining. The onset may increase with heavy smoking or poor hygiene.

The International Agency for the Research of Cancer (IARC) enabled a Working Group who reported that there is
sufficient evidence for the classification of crystalline silica as a Confirmed Human Carcinogen (Group I) (IARC,
1997,V.68).

In line with the IARC decision, ASCC/NOHSC has classified ALL forms of crystalline silica as CONFIRMED
HUMAN CARCINOGEN (CATEGORY 1). Established human carcinogens are those substances known to be
carcinogenic to humans. There is sufficient evidence to establish a casual association between human exposure to these
substances and the development of cancer.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
There is no ecological information available for this product, however, large quantities should not be discharged into
drains, sewers or waterways.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Refer to appropriate authority in your State. Dispose of material through a licensed waste contractor. Advise
environmental hazardous nature. If large amounts of the product enter waterways, sewers or streams, immediately
contact the Environmental Protection Agency or your Local Waste Management Authority.
