4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Swallowed:
If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. If victim conscious, give 1 to 2 glasses of water to drink. Seek urgent medical
assistance.

Eye:
If material is splashed into eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring eye lids are held open.
Immediately transport to hospital or doctor.

Skin:
If material is splashed onto the skin, remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
If irritation persists immediately transport to hospital or doctor.

Inhaled:
Remove victim to fresh air. Apply resuscitation if victim is not breathing - Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
Transport to hospital or doctor immediately.

First Aid Facilities:
Eye wash fountain, safety shower and normal wash room facilities.

Advice to Doctor:
Treat symptomatically.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

CAUTION: Use of water spray when fighting fire may be inefficient.
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
HAZARDS FROM COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis), there
will be a release of oxides of carbon, oxides of nitrogen and noxious smoke.
PRECAUTIONS FOR FIRE FIGHTERS AND SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) required fo r fire -fighting personnel. If possible to do so safely, shut off fuel to fire.

Emergency Procedures:

Wear suitable protective equipment as outlined under personal protection in this MSDS.

Methods and Materials for Containment and Clean Up Procedures:
Throw diatomaceous earth onto spill. DO NOT use sawdust. Use non-sparking tools or HEPA vacuum system to pick
up. Place into labelled drum(s) for later disposal. If risk of fire, blanket the spill with foam or use water fog to disperse
vapour clouds. Consult an expert regarding disposal of this product.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for Safe Handling:
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid breathing of vapours. Store in a cool place and out of direct sunlight. Store
away from sources of heat or ignition. Store away from oxidizing agents. Store below 248 C, to maximize shelf-life.

Conditions for Safe Storage:
Keep containers tightly closed, when not using the product. Store in original packages as approved by manufacturer.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Exposure Standards

No exposure standards have been assigned by [NOHSC] for this product.

Engineering Controls
Flammable and corrosive liquid. Single significant exposure may cause severe injury or death. Maintain adequate
ventilation at all times. Prevent accumulation of vapours in hollows or sumps. Eliminate any sources of ignition.

Personal Protection Equipment
GLOVES: Nitrile or neoprene.
EYES: Chemical goggles or spectacles with side shields to protect eyes.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid breathing of vapours. Select and use respirators in accordance with AS/NZS
1715/1716. When the concentration of airborne contaminants reach the exposure standards then the use of a half-face
respirator fitted with an acid vapour cartridge is recommended. For high concentration use an atmosphere-supplied,
positive pressure demand self-contained or airline breathing apparatus supplied air respirator complying with the
requirements of AS/NZS 1715 is recommended. Filter capacity and respirator type depends on exposure levels.If
entering spaces where the airborne concentration of a contaminant is unknown then the use of a Self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) with positive pressure air supply complying with AS/NZS 1715 / 1716, or any other
acceptable International Standard is recommended.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
CHEMICAL STABILITY:
Stable under normal conditions of use.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID:
Ignition sources and mixing with incompatibles.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS:
Strong mineral acids (sulfuric, nitric and hydrochloric), and oxidizing agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Decomposes on heating emitting oxides of carbon , oxides of nitrogen and noxious smoke.

HAZARDOUS REACTIONS:
Will not occur.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
Swallowed:
Harmful if swallowed. Will cause burns to the mouth, mucous membranes, throat, oesophagus and stomach. If
sufficient quantities are ingested (swallowed) death may occur.

Eye:
Will cause burns to the eyes with effects including: Pain, tearing, corneal opacity and if duration of exposure is long
enough, permanent impairment of vision or blindness will occur.

Skin:
Harmful by skin contact. This substance will cause sensitisation by skin contact, which may lead to allergic contact
dermatitis. Will cause burns to the skin, with effects including; Redness, localised pain, ulcerations, blistering and
dermal and epidermal injury.

Inhaled:
May cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory system. However, this is only anticipated if the product is heated.

Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact will lead to necrosis (death) of the skin.

3-Diethyaminopropylamine:

Oral LD50(rat): 1,410 mg/kg
Dermal LD50(rabbit): 750 mg/kg
REACTION: Severe

Information from the literature indicates as depicted above that 3-diethylaminiopropylamine is a corrosive material and
is considered to be a sensitizer by skin contact.

No information is available for this product, however, large quantities should not be discharged to waterways, sewers or
drains.
